Sculptor and Designer

EVERYTHING THAT MARCANTONIO DOES REFLECTS INNOCENCE AND A CHILDLIKE ENTHUSIASM. HE HAS LEARNED FROM ART HOW AN IDEA CAN BE ELEGANT, WHICH IS WHY HE IS ALWAYS SEARCHING FOR PURE CONCEPTS.

Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba is a successful Italian designer and yet a kid-at-heart. He loves thinking about his work as a direct continuation of what he used to do when he was a child, playing with everything he finds, and creating what his mind imagined.

I think the greatest inspiration comes from nature, both from its forms and from its attitude, nothing is superfluous in nature, everything is essential, functional.

Marcantonio

Connections between man and nature are Marcantonio’s favourite theme. Needless to say, the Forest Collection became the perfect conversation starter between him and the founders of Scarlet Splendour. With each unique product, the idea was to literally bring a forest into a home. This led to the creation of sculptural wonders that include everything from cabinets, chairs, sofas, stools to rugs, lamps and more.

Marcantonio was born in 1976 in Massalombarda, Italy. He graduated from the Art Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts. He then started working in the theatre scene, collaborating with various architects. Soon, Marc was creating unique design pieces parallel to the artistic production of sculptures with naturalistic subjects. Step by step, the two careers collided. His designs are enriched with artistic concepts, and sculpture became his signature style.
